Overview
VETMED Abamectin Pour-On for Cattle is a fast acting treatment and control of internal and external parasites of cattle by a convenient pour on application; removes a broad spectrum of parasite types
- Gastro-intestinal roundworms
- Lungworms
- Biting and sucking lice
Active Ingredient is Abamectin at 10 gram per litre of product
Efficacy
When used at the recommended dose level of 500 micro grams of Abamectin per kilogram liveweight, it effectively controls a range of parasites. Treatment of animals with wet hides or when rain threatens should be avoided
Technical
Application
Ready for use with standard pour-on equipment. Check accuracy of pour-on applicator regularly. A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment either with scales or weighband. Dose rate to be based on heaviest cattle in each group (bulls, cows, steers, calves etc). Do not underdose.
Where there is a large variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on bodyweight, to avoid excessive overdosing.
Apply along the backline from shoulders to tail.
This product should not be used on cattle which are under 100kg in weight or less than 16 weeks old.
Withholding period
Meat and offal from cattle for human consumption must not be sold for slaughter during or within 35 days of the last treatment. No withholding period for milk
Storage
Store in the original container, tightly closed, below 25 degrees Celcius and away from direct sunlight
Feature Note; Data has shown that milk production increases when cows or heifers infected with gastrointestinal nematode parasites are treated with an effective anthelmintic
